Panthers Midget A win London Devilette’s Tournament
Leah Amson’s overtime goal, her second goal of the game, propelled our Midget A Panthers to victory over the Whitby Wolves on Valentines day in the finals of the London Devilettes tournament.
Goaltender Morgan Clarke was named game MVP after turning aside 22 shots, including a game saver on a breakaway late in the third period.
“Our players simply outworked a very fast and talented Whitby team” coach Dan Coldwell remarked. “Shift after shift we just didn’t let up on them. When our opportunities to score came we capitalized. As a coach, it’s very pleasing to see all of your players work that hard to manufacture a win – a true team victory”

Panthers Care - Certificate Presentation to the Aurora Panthers Peewee BB Girls Hockey Team - January 2010
Mayor Morris presented a certificate to the Aurora Panthers Peewee BB Girls Hockey Team in appreciation for their hard work and dedication; the team held a bake sale to raise funds for the Lions Club Christmas Drive, for which their fundraising efforts far exceeded expectations.
The Aurora Panthers Atom AA girls’ hockey team traveled to Ottawa and captured the KGHA Championship by defeating the Kanata Blazers 3-1 in the final. The Panthers defeated the Mississauga Chiefs 6-0 and 3-1 and the Blazers 2-0 and 7-1 in the round robin of the tournament before advancing to the finals.
Jasmine and Natalie scored four goals each while goalie Natalie had two shutouts and a goals against average of 0.60 to lead the team. The team also had strong performances from forwards Alison, Hannah, Emerson, Florence, Nicole Shaw, Rose and Lauren.
The defense led by Katerina, Ali, Calista, Kailey and Makenna also played very well limiting their opponents to only three goals in the five game tournament.
Player of the game awards were handed out to Natalie, Jasmine, Makenna, Rose and to Alison in the final game.
Co-Coaches Steve Claydon and Wally Charko were very happy with the team’s performance, “With every game each player became more determined to compete and when they got to the championship, as a team, they just never took their foot off the gas. A true team victory was achieved”, said Claydon.
